The inaugural running of the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle went to Nicky Henderson’s Andytown, providing jockey Felix de Giles with his first race win. The real story of the race was, however, the performance of 100/1 outsider, Midnight Chase, who put in a strong run at the end of the race and would have rewarded backers handsomely on each-way bets.
